COOKING CLASSES + CULINARY WELLNESS EVENTS

Our Movement+Meal Wellness Series combines a variety of movement modalities and a plant based meal curated by Chef Amelia! Join us monthly for classes to help you get moving and eat WELL! 

Our next session is JULY 20TH! Instructor Mike Patterson will lead us in an hour long Tai Chi class followed by a take home meal provided by Chef Amelia. Class is limited to a select number so make sure you register to secure your space.

Join Chef Amelia Irene in her Kitchen!

Lotus Lane’s Founder, Chef Amelia Irene, hosts both virtual and in personal culinary workshops and cook along classes for a nominal fee. All classes feature plant based and health supportive cuisine! Join Amelia in her home kitchen or yours and learn how to incorporate more plant based meals into your daily life to boost your immunity, prevent disease, and improve your overall health and wellbeing. All classes are interactive and conducted in either demonstration or cook along format with Q&A. In addition, each participant will receive the recipes presented for each class. Class boxes are available for each session that includes non perishable ingredients and Chef Amelia’s curated spice blends!

Note: We periodically offer FREE sessions that enable us to share information to all and ensure access without financial limitation. Donations are greatly appreciated to cover the cost of ingredients, supplies and instruction for free class sessions. WEDNESDAY, JUNE 21ST; 6:30PM @SERENITY FARM DURHAM

TAI CHI + PLANT BASED TO GO MEAL!

Join Chef Amelia and Health and Fitness Coach Mike Patterson for a movement and meal session introducing participants to the benefits of Tai Chi! Each participant will also receive a take home plant based meal prepared by Chef Amelia! During this session Mike will review the 4 movements explored in previous classes and add additional movements until participants are able to move through an entire sequence effortlessly.

CLASS INSTRUCTOR:

CHEF AMELIA IRENE, FOUNDER LOTUS LANE

Join me in the kitchen! I am excited to curate wellness experiences that enhance your mind, body and spirit. As a native of the Washington, DC metropolitan area, I relocated to North Carolina over 8 years ago and currently reside in quaint Wake Forest outside of Raleigh. A Federal Government Executive by day and an entrepreneur by night I am the Founder of both Amelia Irene Catering and Event Design and Lotus Lane Curated Wellness Retreats. My desire to become a chef was birthed as a child but my path to get there took a longer journey! It began as a nursing major at Prairie View A&M University after I told my mom I wanted to major in Home Economics! Unclear how I would "survive" she encouraged me to pick a major where I could get a good job. I later transferred closer to home and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Science from Coppin State University and a Master’s Degree in Health Administration from the University of Maryland University College. Despite a successful government career that spans over 25 years in Congressional Affairs, Public Relations and now IT Portfolio Management the desire to pursue my passion led me back to the kitchen where I find solace from the stress of life. After surviving uterine and ovarian cancer a catalyst was sparked to live each moment to its fullest and pursue my purpose relentlessly. Over the course of a year I traveled from NC to New York to attend the Natural Gourmet Institute graduating from their Chef Training Program in March 2019. I am a firm believer in food as medicine and understand the battle to live healthy while struggling with emotional eating. My daily affirmation is that my culinary gifts will bring vibrant life and healing to all who partake in it.
